This guide will walk you through resolving the “400: Session Invalid” error while connecting your Instagram account to LinkPlease or other third-party platforms.
Reason 1: App Permissions Conflict
Sometimes, your Instagram account is already connected on Instagram’s side but not reflected in LinkPlease.
Steps to Fix:
Open Instagram in a browser (preferably mobile).
Go to Settings → Security → Apps and Websites
Find the list of apps connected to your Instagram.Look for LinkPlease (or the platform you’re linking).
Check both the Active and Expired tabs.Click Remove / Disconnect
Remove the app from Instagram’s connected apps.Return to LinkPlease and reconnect Instagram.
Reason 2: Browser Cache or Cookies
Cached data or cookies in your browser can block Instagram authentication.
Steps to Fix:
Open an Incognito / Private Browsing window.
Log into Instagram and LinkPlease again.
Try reconnecting your Instagram account.
If incognito mode doesn’t work, clear your browser cache and cookies manually.
Reason 3: Using the Wrong Device or Network
Instagram’s API sometimes behaves differently depending on your device or network.
Steps to Fix:
Try switching devices, e.g., connect via mobile instead of desktop (or vice versa).
Switch your internet connection, move from Wi-Fi to mobile data or use a different Wi-Fi network.
Attempt to reconnect Instagram again in LinkPlease.
Reason 4: Instagram Account Type Mismatch
Some third-party integrations require a Business or Creator account instead of a Personal one.
Steps to Fix:
Open Instagram Settings → Account.
Check your account type (Personal, Creator, or Business).
If needed, switch to Business or Creator and try connecting again.
Log out and back in to refresh permissions.
Reason 5: Expired or Invalid Tokens
If Instagram’s access tokens expire, LinkPlease can’t authenticate your account.
Steps to Fix:
Disconnect Instagram from LinkPlease.
Reconnect your account to generate a fresh token.
If the issue continues, remove LinkPlease permissions from Instagram first (Reason 1) and then reconnect.
Reason 6: Temporary Instagram API Issues
Sometimes, this error is on Instagram’s side and fixes itself automatically.
Steps to Fix:
Wait 30–60 minutes before retrying the connection.
Try again later from a different browser or device if needed.
Reason 7: Contact Support
If none of the above steps work, contact support for assistance.
Steps to Fix:
Click Support in LinkPlease.
Click New Conversation and describe your issue.
Example: “Hi, I’m getting a 400: Session Invalid error while linking Instagram.”Click Send

You’ve now tried all fixes, clearing permissions, refreshing tokens, checking account type, and reconnecting.
